Where are the videos?

All my old video posts went away with Soapbox... Finally get to remove them today from the old posts so I don't (or you don't) have to stare into black holes. I'm still not comfortable posting videos on Facebook yet but need to have a solution soon. Oh, well, I'll wait till the holiday season is over (pure laziness... :-))!

Fashionista

Amelie discovered high heels and is loving it! She puts her favorite turquoise pair on every morning when she plays in my closet. She even mastered running with them in like 2 sec. (which mommy can’t do…). How did we managed to raise a fashionista?? Sarcastic

Happy Mother's day!

We have bad Amelie trying to use spoon on and off for the last month. Most of times, we shy away from it becasue we are just too lazy to deal with the mess. With so little practice, she amazed me today when she finished the congee all by herself (with little mess) at lunch. I let her try again in the afternoon just to make sure it's not a fluke and she did it again! I was so prode and it's the best Mother's Day gift ever! Yeah!!

Fun moments

Amelie like moving things that include cars, birds, dogs, and her toys too! :)

Rolling, rolling, rolling...

What's up?

The work has been super busy lately and I completely slack off on my blog entry for good two months. Yes, a lot have happened during these two months and I hope I didn't miss much…

·         No more wobbling. She walks so well now and is more into running. The normal walking speed is just TOO SLOW. She is also no longer afraid of walking outside. Uphill, downhill, grass, soft surface… bring it on! She can also walk backwards which she likes to do it a lot this week. She thinks it’s really funny. Smile

    • She was an angel for most of Jan and Feb. She understood us perfectly and did things we asked her to do. Well, towards the end of Feb. she has “advanced” to the phase of a little rebel. She often challenges our authority and sits or lies on the floor, kicking and screaming when she doesn’t get her way. I understand this is an important part of the development so she learns about the boundary but I can’t help missing the angelic phase which literally was yesterday!

·         Her little brain is definitely soaking up everything! She can do the ring puzzle almost perfectly now and starts to know how some shapes work in the shape puzzle. Another change we notice is that she used to like to knock everything down when we tried to build up a tower but now she starts to build tower herself! There were a few photos in album showed the little bug tower she built. I missed the actual moment but I am so grateful that Marcel took great pictures capturing the moment.  Besides some obvious changes in development activities, she also picks up little things from us.  For example, cleaning and throwing waste into the garbage and from time to time, she will pick up something tiny on the follow and throw it to the garbage can herself. She also learns to put things back after she takes them out. Though she can’t really put things back right but I’m very proud to see her trying.

·         She can’t talk yet but she is trying. When she wants something, she said “dada” and she says something like an exciting “hi” when she sees us! And a couple more words she mastered are “oh-oh” and “nei” (which is “no” in Swiss.). I think she actually says more but I am still trying to figure out her language.

·         She really enjoys the music and she knows toys that make music and will push bottoms and dance along again and again. It’s just sooo adorable!

·         Wrapping her in blanket and playing parachute is her favorite game lately. She will bring the blanket to us and ask us to play with her again and again and again. It was super fun to see her hair go all magnetic and giggle like crazy!

·         She likes to have her spoon and fork. Periodically, she will pick up something with them but most of the time, they are just fun toys. Wink

All of sudden, I feel like I’m writing a midyear review for Amelie (ha ha ha...). She totally deserves a “Exceed” and she knows it too! Red heart
